This language tree was drawn by Scandinavian designer Minna Sundberg and shows the common roots of the languages spoken by most of the world's population. These Indo-European languages share a common ancestor though there is some debate about this. One theory is the languages emerged from the Black Sea region 4,000 years ago and another suggests it dates back 9,000 years to the region that is now Turkey.
