Elon Musk, the man behind PayPal, Space X and Tesla Cars developed the Hyperloop transport system and then put it out into the marketplace for who ever wanted to take it on, for free. He said at the time the project is totally viable and ready to go (finance aside) but he didn’t have the time to see the project through. The Hyperloop would cut the LA -San Fran journey down to 40 minutes give or take and would cost between 7 and 16 million dollars to build. It would be the only land based transport system that could out sprint a Boeing 737.
